As a non-EU member state, Switzerland requires movable goods to be inspected at its border and subjected to a customs clearance, which can only occur on working days.
When transferring to a new place of residence, all relevant movable property is exempt from duty. The required documents must be issued by the local government and new employer. If these are not available or you want to ship newly purchased movable property, customs duty will be charged.
Medium and large shipments will be delivered directly to your address, if already registered at the time of moving, and for small quantities we arrange the shipment through our Swiss partner warehouse. If you want to bring live plants or potted plants, a phytosanitary certificate is also required.
If your pet is moving with you, in addition to the chip, animal passport and compulsory vaccines, a variety of medical examinations must be undertaken before you travel. We’re here to help every step of the way.
